A Conversation with Yogurt
Jun 22, 2008

I was walking home last night with some flowers (for Joey) in one hand and big container of plain yogurt (we’ve been recently fond of mixing plain yogurt and honey) in the other. Yes, I know, it was an odd pair of objects to be holding.

Two gay guys were standing at the door to the apartment complex when I walked up. I had a feeling that this was going to be funny.

Gay Guy #1: Are you sure this is the right place?
Gay Guy #2: Yeah, I think so. It certainly smells gay.
Me: Uh, well, I think that’s from my flowers.
Gay Guy #1: But you’re straight.
Me: Yes, I am.
Gay Guy #1: (Looks at the yogurt in my other hand) What’s that?
Me: Some plain yogurt.
Gay Guy #2: Now *that’s* gay.
Me: Actually, yes, I admit, that is sort of gay.

We all laughed.

Thanks Amazon for Thinking That I’m A Hacker When Your Site is Down
Jun 6, 2008

It seems that lots of sites are down today–most notably Amazon. I can only imagine the lost revenue and heads that rolling up in Seattle.

I actually needed to purchase a book, and, after getting a few generic error pages, I was presented with this:

Amazon.com: We're sorry!

Thanks Amazon, I appreciate you thinking that I’m now a hacker when your site is down. Heaven forbid that I actually wanted to try to purchase something. I understand that your site is down, but, please, get your error pages in order. I hope for their sake that this page isn’t being widely seen.

Then, I tried to tweet about it, but twitter is down, most likely from everyone trying to tweet that Amazon is down.
